Ingo Schwichtenberg

Ingo was ejected from the band in 1993 during the tour that followed the release of the album Chameleon. The reason given was his dependence on alcohol and drugs (particularly cocaine and hashish). Ingo also suffered from schizophrenia, and his refusal to take his medication generated embarrassing scenes, such as the day when he had uncontrollable sobbing that prevented him from going on stage. Ingo was apparently dissatisfied with the musical direction taken by the band, particularly on the song Windmill from the album Chameleon. According to Michael Weikath, he had renamed it Shitmill. After being replaced in the band by Uli Kusch, Ingo sank further into his schizophrenia and committed suicide on March 8, 1995 by jumping under a subway train.
