Siebenbürgen

In the year 1994 SIEBENBÜRGEN was formed by Marcus Ehlin (guitar, vocals) and Anders Rosdahl (drums). A few months later, Fredrik Brockert (bass) joined the band. Following the release of their first, self-titled demo cassette in 1996, Linus Ekström joined the band. During the Halloween weekend of 1996, SIEBENBÜRGEN recorded their second demo, "Ungentum Pharelis". With this demo, they landed a contract with NAPALM RECORDS, and recorded their first album, in April 1997, titled "Loreia". In January/February 1998, SIEBENBÜRGEN recorded their second album, "Grimjaur", which was released in May of the same year. Siebenbürgen is, in German, the Principality of Transylvania. It developed in the Middle Ages as an autonomous voivodeship under the obedience of the Kingdom of Hungary until 1526.
