Onslaught

Onslaught was founded in 1982 by guitarist Nige Rockett and drummer Steve Grice. Rockett called on members of his former band Deranged, singer Jase Pope and bassist Paul Hill, to complete the line-up. They would be replaced by Roger Davies and Paul Davies the following year. The band released several demos influenced by the second wave of English punk (The Exploited, Discharge). 1984 saw the arrival of Paul Mahoney (vocals) and Jase Stallard (bass). The band released new demos in which the hardcore punk influences faded in favor of heavy/thrash metal sounds. The band signed a contract with the label Children of the Revolution and released its first album, Power from Hell, in 1985.
