D‐A‐D

Formed in the early 1980s in Copenhagen, Denmark, the band was initially called Disneyland After Dark. Stig Pedersen suggests with this name that, once plunged into darkness, anything can happen at Disneyland. The band, made up of Jesper Binzer, Stig Pedersen, Peter Lundholm Jensen and Stig's girlfriend Lene Glumer, played its first concert in a youth hostel called Sundby Algaard. In December 1982, Lene Glumer left the lineup and was replaced in 1984 by Jesper's younger brother. The lineup then stabilized with Jesper Binzer on vocals and guitar, Jacob Binzer on guitar, Stig Pedersen on bass and backing vocals, and Peter Lundholm Jensen on drums. They released their first album, Call of the Wild, in 1986 and D.A.D Draws a Circle the following year.
