Dornenreich

Dornenreich is an Austrian dark and black metal band, from the state of Tyrol. It formed in the late 1990s by Thomas «Valñes» Stock (nicknamed Dunkelkind). At the creation of the band, the name Dornenreich was chosen because it lends itself to multiple interpretations; it translates literally as «The realm of thorns». Jochen «Evíga» Stock joined the band during 1996, the year in which the first songs were composed. The band started with a first demo titled Mein Flügelschang. In April 1997, Moritz «Gilvan» Neuner joined the two previous members, and would stay until the release of the album Her von welken Nächten, in 2001. In 1997, the band released its first studio album, Nicht Um Zu Sterben, on the label CCP Records. In 1999 came the band's second album Bitter Ist's Dem Tod Zu Dienen.
