WebsiteSubway to Sally is a band that emerged in Potsdam, Germany, in the 1990s. Its style, on the border between Folk and medieval music, was later enriched with Metal and Gothic influences. The songs on the first album are mainly in English, while the following albums are almost exclusively in German, with some songs in Latin or Gaelic. The band has produced eleven studio albums, three live albums, and one live DVD. One evening in 1990, the five members decided to hire Folk music performers. They then named the project Subway to Sally, and hired violinist Silke Volland (Frau Schmitt) and trumpeter Coni. On September 15, 1990, they gave their first concert. Coni left the band relatively early when she became pregnant.
