It was in 1984, in Canada, that the story of Smashed Gladys began. Boss lady Sally Cato had just finished her role as an extra in the video for "Too Young To Fall In Love" by the infamous Mötley Crüe. It seems this cameo gave career ambitions to this young (and very beautiful brunette), a punk fan on top of it. A band was quickly put together, and together they decided to drop everything to join the city that never sleeps in order to draw more attention. Their very sleaze rock made this quintet one of the worthy successors of the cross-dressers New York Dolls. Shortly after, Uncle Scrooge Gene Simmons got his hands on their demo and was blown away by their "17 Goin' On Crazy." He decided to finance them, and so here is that very first album.
