Tuatha de Danann

Tuatha de Danann is a Brazilian band that comes from the city of Varginha in the state of Minas Gerais. The band was created in 1995, with the aim of playing original music, mixing heavy metal with Celtic and medieval elements. The band underlines this intent by taking a name drawn from Celtic mythology: Tuatha Dé Danann is a Gaelic term meaning "The people of Dana" (Dana is a Celtic goddess). The Tuatha Dé Danann are a mythical race of gods who populated Ireland before the arrival of the Milesians, ancestors of the Gaels. The first record, a demo, is titled quite simply Tuatha de Danann, and came out in 1999. The first album, Tingaralatingadun, came out in 2001.
