Unsane is an American noise rock band from New York. It was formed in 1988 by singer and guitarist Chris Spencer, bassist Pete Shore (1988-1994), and drummer Charlie Ondras (1988-1992). Since 1994, the line-up has remained unchanged. They have a total of six albums, three live albums and two compilations. In 2019 Chris Spencer ended the band via a message posted on Facebook. The band toured intensively and released Total Destruction in 1993 on the label Matador Records/Atlantic Records.
