Fear Factory

Fear Factory was founded in Los Angeles, United States, in 1990 by Burton C. Bell (vocals), Raymond Herrera (drums) and Dino Cazares (guitar). They recorded two tracks for the compilation L.A. Death Metal before releasing their first album Soul of a New Machine in 1992. Bassist Andrew Shives joined the band to allow Dino Cazares to play guitar live. The following year, Fear Factory signed the EP Fear is the Mindkiller, on which some tracks were remixed by Rhys Fulber and Bill Leeb of the electro-industrial band Front Line Assembly. During the recording, the lineup was joined by keyboardist Reynor Diego who, along with Rhys Fulber, was present on the tours. Andrew Shives was replaced in 1994 by Christian Olde Wolbers. A year later, Fear Factory signed their second album, Demanufacture.
