Pyogenesis is a German rock band, originating from Stuttgart. Singer and guitarist Flo von Schwarz founded Pyogenesis in the summer of 1991 out of the local band Immortal Hate. The band members got to know each other in a discotheque on the outskirts of Stuttgart. The grindcore and death metal demo Ode to the Churning Seas of Nar-Mataru became the single Rise of the Unholy through the Mexican label Mephitic Productions. Shortly afterwards, a single Sacrificious Profanity also appeared on Symphonies of Death Records, a Colombian label. In the autumn of 1992, the first album Ignis Creatio was recorded for the French label Osmose Productions. For the album, Pyogenesis included clean vocals and harmonic riffs in the music for the first time.
