Aversion

American power trio formed in 1987 in California. They recorded two demos from 1988 to 1989. Three albums saw the light of day from 1991 to 1995. In their early days on The Ugly Truth, the band played a mix of speed and thrash metal, with lyrics in particular that deal with the "adversities of everyday life", reminiscent of hardcore punk. On the second album Fit to Be Tied, the influence of thrash metal was particularly strong, the band recalling early Metallica and, in particular, Fuhrer's singing strongly recalls that of James Hetfield. Furthermore, a hardcore punk influence can be heard again, even if it is characteristic that the band forgoes the use of guitar solos.
