WebsiteAlice Cooper (born Vincent Damon Furnier on 4 February 1948 in Detroit, Michigan) is an American hard rock singer whose career spans more than five decades. Through his attitude and appearance, he is recognized as the chief father of shock rock. Alice Cooper was originally a genuine band, with Vincent Furnier, alias Alice Cooper, on vocals and occasionally harmonica. The band's commercial success reached its peak in 1973 with the cult album Billion Dollar Babies. After the band broke up in 1974, Vincent Furnier began a solo career, keeping the pseudonym Alice Cooper, and released the following year the concept album Welcome to My Nightmare, which would prove a resounding success.
