Engel

Engel was formed in 2004 in Gothenburg by Niclas Engelin. On April 18, 2006, Robert Hakemo was replaced by Johan Andreassen. On August 5, 2006, Michael Håkansson became their new bassist. Engel released their first album, Absolute Design, on the label SPV GmbH/Steamhammer on October 31, 2007. It was released on May 20, 2008 in North America. On August 14, 2008, Håkansson left the band. Steve Drennan (Amon Amarth) replaced him on bass in November 2008. Their second album, Threnody, was completed at the end of 2008, but the release date was pushed back due to problems with their label, SPV GmbH. On April 7, 2010, Threnody was released in Japan by the label Trooper Entertainment.
