Chris Poland

Chris Poland is an American guitarist, former member of the band Megadeth, born on December 1, 1957. Chris Poland exercised his first talents as a guitarist in a jazz/rock band called Welkin, while he was at Dunkirk high school. From 1977 to 1982, he served in the band The New Yorkers, in which he met drummer Gar Samuelson, with whom he would strike up a friendship. The two men would join the band Megadeth in 1984, but the band's stability was undermined by his excessive drug consumption; Gar Samuelson and Chris Poland were shown the door by Dave Mustaine in 1987. Chris was accused of having sold equipment to buy himself drugs. He then successfully underwent a detox cure. In 2000, Chris Poland released two solo albums: Chasing the Sun & Rare Trax.
