Magnum

Magnum became a house band at the nightclub the Rum Runner, located in Birmingham (later the residence of Duran Duran). Drummer Kex Gorin and bassist Bob Doyle joined Clarkin and Catley. The lineup remained the same until 1972, after the arrival of Les Kitcheridge on guitar. Bob Doyle left Magnum in 1972 and joined Wizzard, and was replaced by bassist Dave Morgan (Uglys and Balls) (later a member of ELO). They developed their own style by playing Clarkin's pieces at the Railway Inn, Curzon Street, in Birmingham, in 1976.
