Kalmah

The history of Kalmah begins in 1991 when Pekka Kokko and Petri Sankala founded the band Ancestor. After 2 demos, Antti Kokko joined the band to take the position of lead guitarist. In 1998, after having recorded 5 thrash/death metal demos with 5 different bassists, it was the end of the band Ancestor. The Kokko brothers then formed the band Kalmah and the line-up was completed by Pasi Hiltula on keyboards. With great enthusiasm, the band began composing a promotional record. With the melodic death track Svieri Obraza, the band signed its first contract with Spikefarm Records. The band wasted no time and recorded the album Swampsong at the Tico-Tico studio with Pekka Kokko on vocals and guitar and his brother on guitar. Sankala on drums, Hiltula on keyboards and Veteläinen on bass completed the band.
