Artch

Originally formed in 1983 by guitarist Cato André Olsen and bassist Bernt Jansen, guitarist Geir Nilssen, drummer Jørn Jamissen and singer Lars Fladeby soon joined them in 1984 to form a local rock band called Oxygen. Espen Hoff placed Mr. Fladeby as the band's main singer in 1985 but he died in a motorcycle accident the same year, and was then replaced by Eiríkur Hauksson in 1986. Since its inception, Artch released two studio albums on the Metal Blade Records label which were well received, particularly by the British specialized press, but sales were disastrous. Drummer Jamissen left the band in 1991 and was replaced by Gudmund Bolsgård.
