Voivod

Voivod ist eine kanadische Thrash-Metal-Band, ursprünglich aus Jonquière, Saguenay, in Québec. 1982 gegründet, besteht die Band aus Denis „Piggy“ D'Amour (Gitarre), Jean-Yves „Blacky“ Thériault (Bass), Denis „Snake“ Bélanger (Gesang) und Michel „Away“ Langevin (Schlagzeug). Der Voivod ist ein Vampir-Android-Ritter der postnuklearen Ära. Inspiriert von einer transsilvanischen Legende, entsprang dieser Antiheld direkt der Vorstellungskraft von Away, dem Schlagzeuger, Autor und Illustrator der Band. Die Figur Voivod entwickelt und verwandelt sich von einem Album zum nächsten bis zum Album Voivod im Jahr 2003. Allerdings kehrte er auf Wunsch von Blacky für das Album Target Earth (2013) zurück.

Korgull

Korgull, the band's mascot, still gives off a certain class; he looks like the monsters you doodle in the corner of a notebook when you're bored stiff in class. His appearance varies from record to record, always with absolutely hideous features bordering on post-modern art. His most notable appearances remain "War and Pain" and "Rrröööaaarrr", on which he has a song named after him.
