Celesty

Celestial was founded in 1998 by drummer Jere Luokkamäki and bassist Ari Katajamäki. They were joined in 1999 by guitarist Tapani Kangas and went into the studio to record a demo that would ultimately never be released. The year 2000 was full of upheaval for the band, with the departure of Tapani and Ari, who had to go and do their military service. That same year, the band changed its name to Celesty; guitarist Juha-Pekka Alanen joined, accompanied by a friend of his, singer Kimmo Perämäki. They recorded their first demo, Warrior of Ice. In 2001, Jere discovered keyboardist Juha Mäenpää, and the band began to find its feet.
