Supuration released Sultry Obsession in 1990, a first self-produced CD limited to 1000 copies. In 1991, the band recorded 8 tracks that would appear on various EPs and would later be compiled on the self-produced 9092, limited to 500 copies, with 3 tracks recorded in 1992 that appear on the compilation Obscurum per Obscurus. In September 1992, Supuration signed with Reincarnate Records and released its first album, The Cube, in February 1993, which would be followed in April 1994 by a maxi, Still in the Sphere, including the cover of Shout by Tears for Fears. Meanwhile, the band was contacted to record the soundtrack of the feature film Jacques le fataliste, which would be broadcast only once (no distribution contract). The band embarked on a European tour alongside Suffocation, and the video for The Crack was aired on MCM.
