HammerFall

HammerFall is a power metal band from the city of Gothenburg, Sweden. The band formed in 1993 from Ceremonial Oath guitarist Oscar Dronjak and Jesper Strömblad of In Flames. HammerFall began when guitarist Oscar Dronjak left Ceremonial Oath and invited Jesper Strömblad (In Flames) to join him in order to set up a new musical project. Dronjak had already composed the song "Steel Meets Steel" at the time, and it would be included on HammerFall's first album a few years later. The band was joined shortly afterward by guitarist Niklas Sundin, bassist Johann Larsson and singer Mikael Stanne (Dark Tranquillity). Dronjak and Strömblad played at the time in other bands: Dronjak's band Crystal Age, which by the way met with mixed success.
