WebsiteAC/DC is an Australian-British rock band formed in Sydney in 1973 by the Young brothers. Although classified as hard rock, the band's members have always described their music as "rock 'n' roll". AC/DC's line-up underwent many changes before the release of the second album in Australia, T.N.T., in 1975. It then remained unchanged until Mark Evans was replaced by Cliff Williams in 1977. In 1979, the band achieved worldwide success with their album Highway to Hell. Singer and co-lyricist Bon Scott died on 19 February 1980, drowned in his own vomit, after a night of heavy alcohol consumption. The band then considered breaking up, but Geordie's former singer, Brian Johnson, was chosen as Bon Scott's replacement. That same year, the album Back in Black was released.
