Ebonylake

In 1997, Ebonylake recorded the demo "As Ghosts We Dance In Thrashing Seas"; this self-production quickly gained the attention of the avant-garde scene for its furious mixture of extreme and neoclassical metal blended with elements of film music. Impressed, the famous English label Cacophonous Records (Bal Sagoth, Cradle Of Filth, Dimmu Borgir, Gehenna, Primordial, Sigh...) signed them, and intensive work then began on the first album "On The Eve Of The Grimly Inventive". The composition sessions leading to the recording were the fruit of artistic explorations with numerous points of reference, Oscar Wilde, Penderecki, Prokofiev and Poe to name but a few. Recorded in 1998 at Académie Studios in England, the album left no one indifferent.
