WebsiteHelloween is a German power metal band founded by Kai Hansen (Gamma Ray) and Piet Sielk (Iron Savior) in 1978. In 1982, after leaving his first band Powerfool, which enjoyed no success, Michael Weikath joined the band Iron Fist, which would become Helloween, then made up of Ingo Schwichtenberg on drums, Markus Grosskopf on bass, and Kai Hansen on guitar and vocals. He is, along with Markus Grosskopf, the only survivor of the original line-up. In 1984, the band signed with the label Noise Records and recorded two tracks for the Death Metal compilation: Oernst Of Life and Metal Invaders. After a first five-track mini-album soberly titled Helloween (also called the Mini LP), the band released its first album, Walls of Jericho, in 1985, on which Kai Hansen handled vocals and guitar.
