The Lords of the New Church

The band is made up of members from the punk rock scene: Stiv Bators (The Dead Boys), Brian James (The Damned), Dave Tregunna (Sham 69) and Nick Turner (The Barracudas), but opts for a more crafted and more polished rock. Stiv Bators and his cohorts adopt a physical appearance marked by the gothic and a tribal aspect, notably the hairstyles and the use of outrageous make-up recalling the New York Dolls. Dave Tregunna was replaced in 1986 by Grant Flemming (bass) and a second guitarist (Alistair Symons - ex-Dirty Strangers). Nicky Turner was replaced in 1987 by Danny Fury (ex-Rogue Male) and Tregunna returned to business in 1988 for a final tour after a brief stint in Cherry Bombz (ex-Hanoi Rocks).
