Vengeance

Formed in 82 in Waalwijk by Leon Geowie. While playing the local bars under the name Lynx, the band was noticed in 84 by Derk Joling, then a producer at CBS Records. Their first single enjoyed national success, but tensions between the members led to the departure of Leon, who was replaced by Ian Perry. With success no longer coming, the band split up. Leon relaunched Vengeance in 96 with the help of Arjen and former members of the band. Vengeance launched the careers of Arjen "Ayreon" Lucassen and of producer Oscar Holleman. Indeed, the album "Back From Flight 19", released in 97, is produced by Arjen "Ayreon" Lucassen. On January 28, 2010, guitarist Jan Somers died of a heart attack at the age of 46.
