Joan Jett

Joan Jett, whose real name is Joan Marie Larkin, born on 22 September 1958 in Wynnewood in the suburbs of Philadelphia, is an American rock singer. She is mainly known for her cover of the track I Love Rock 'n' Roll in 1982, but also for Crimson and Clover, I Hate Myself for Loving You, Do You Want to Touch Me as well as Bad Reputation. At the age of thirteen she moved to Hollywood, California, where she made a name for herself in the 1970s as guitarist and main songwriter of the all-female punk rock and glam rock band The Runaways, who found success with Cherry Bomb. She also took over lead vocals after the departure of singer Cherie Currie. Curiously, the band found success all over the world, notably in Japan. Today, she is above all famous as a pioneer of women's rock.
