Ayreon

Ayreon is a progressive metal/rock opera musical project created by Arjen Anthony Lucassen, a Dutch multi-instrumentalist. Ayreon's musical style comes mainly from heavy metal and progressive rock, to which other genres such as folk music, classical music and electronic music are added, creating an original musical genre. The majority of Ayreon's albums are grouped under the label Rock Opera in view of the many narrative lines and the dialogues spoken or sung by various characters, each represented by a different singer. Ayreon's music is characterized by the use of traditional rock instruments. Lucassen is author, composer, singer and multi-instrumentalist on Ayreon's albums. He is accompanied by a great many other musicians and singers.
