Opera Diabolicus

Opera Diabolicus is the creation of composer David Grimoire and lyricist Adrian de Crow. The idea emerged when the two men met during a stage adaptation of Umberto Eco's novel The Name of the Rose in a theatre in Gothenburg, Sweden, in 2006. The story intrigued them both. As a result, they came to talk about the project of basing a similar story on it in order to create a theatrical dark metal album. Thus was born the concept of Opera Diabolicus: to gather the darkest musical and theatrical elements in order to combine them with musical excellence. "†1614" thus saw the light of day in January 2012 on Metalville. Nearly ten years later, the duo made their return with "Death On A Pale Horse" in November 2021 on Season Of Mist.
