Mortal Sin is an Australian band which benefited from the very start from the support of the British magazine Kerrang!. Mayhemic Destruction, a first album strongly influenced by Metallica, allowed them to enjoy a certain success among thrash metal fans. After the release of the second album, titled Face of Despair, internal tensions led to the band's break-up in 1990, but bassist Andy Eftichiou decided to continue and recorded the album Rebellious Youth with new members. The band's original members took legal action against them, and Eftichiou finally put an end to Mortal Sin in 1992. In 1996, four of the five original members revived the band. After replacing guitarist Anthony Hoffman, Mortal Sin released the following year the EP Revolution of the Mind compiling new tracks and re-recorded songs.
