R.I.O.

Even though it is undeniable that the United Kingdom is not the natural habitat of AOR and its melodic ramifications, a number of very good British artists have plied their trade in this particular field. Among them, we may cite FM, Strangeways, Airrace, Shy and a few others. A name unfortunately rarely mentioned but which just as much deserves to be taken into consideration is that of Rio. Less a band than a studio project composed of singer and guitarist Jon Neill and Steve Rodford (son of Argent bassist Jim Rodford) on bass, keyboards and drums. Their first album, which you now hold in your grateful hands, is widely regarded as one of the best AOR albums ever released outside of the United States, and a quick listen is enough to convince the listener that this is indeed the case.
