Andre Matos

Andre Matos was born and lived in São Paulo. It was at the age of ten that he began music with the piano. At the age of thirteen he joined the band Viper, a heavy metal band. Andre, who was only a pianist, quickly became a singer (notably thanks to his physical resemblance to Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson). He recorded two albums with them, Soldiers of Sunrise in 1987 and Theatre of Fate in 1989, enjoyed success in Brazil before leaving the band following musical drifts. Andre put metal on hold to finish his studies, particularly in music (specializing in composition / orchestration) before forming the band Angra in 1991, which would reveal his voice to the world. Andre Matos then devoted himself to a solo project with Hugo and Luis Mariutti. He then produced the album Time to Be Free, which was released in France on 25 February 2008. And in 2009, Mentalize.
