Celtic Frost

Celtic Frost is a Swiss avant-garde metal band with an extreme metal leaning, formed in 1984 from the ashes of the band Hellhammer. The band touched on just about every sensibility of this kind of music: from thrash metal through death and black, having had an avant-garde metal and doom period. The band's leader, Thomas Gabriel Fischer, of Swiss origin, changed his name to Tom Warrior around the beginning of his career. With Bruce Day and Steve Warrior, he formed Hellhammer in 1982. Hellhammer's popularity grew with a local audience and the band signed with Noise Records in Germany.
