WebsiteBelphegor is an Austrian death / black metal band, formed in 1991 under the name Betrayer. In 1993, the band changed its name to Belphegor, in reference to the demon bearing the same name. Belphegor's music is fast and powerful black/death metal. The lyrics are extremely provocative towards Christianity, as are their album covers. The band released a first demo in 1991, titled Kruzifixion. After changing the band's name, the band then released another demo, Bloodbath in Paradise, in MCD format. Their first real studio album, The Last Supper, was released in 1995 on the Lethal Records label.
