Blue Öyster Cult is an American rock band whose style oscillates between hard rock, heavy metal and psychedelic rock. Blue Öyster Cult formed in 1967 in Long Island under the impetus of two rock journalists, Sandy Pearlman and Richard Meltzer, members of the psychedelic rock band The Cows, created three years earlier. But even before they met, each member of the future Blue Öyster Cult already had a musical past at the heart of his high school or his grande école.
