WebsiteDeicide is a death metal band from the United States. First called Amon, the band formed in Florida in 1987. It recorded two demos, Feasting the Beast in 1987 and then Sacrificial in 1989. Shortly after, the band chose its definitive name and released its self-titled first album. Deicide quickly became known for 2 reasons: 1 - The singer/bassist/frontman Glen Benton had an inverted cross branded onto his forehead with a hot iron. 2 - Deicide sold about 400,000 copies of its album Legion, which is a record in Death Metal. Deicide proclaims itself satanist and the theme of all their songs is opposed to Christianity. They have been banned from playing in many places like other bands of the same style.
