Suffocation

One of the legends of American brutal death. To be honest: why not THE founding legend, because while Cannibal Corpse was still doing old-school, Suffocation's tempo was already flat out... It was indeed perhaps the very first band to combine so much brutality with so many technical aspects. It was in 1990 that Suffocation's story began... A gang of young New Yorkers craving noise threw themselves into a project that would help ignite a growing scene in the USA at that time: Brutal Death Metal. And it was shortly after the formation that a first 3-track demo was created. "Reincrimation" caught the eye of the growing extreme labels, namely here Relapse Records. A first official recording, "Human Waste", was released as an EP in 1991.
