WebsiteThe 69 Eyes is a Finnish gothic rock band. Also known as "The Helsinki Vampires", the band emerged in the early 1990s and claims influences from the Stooges, Iggy Pop's former punk band, the Doors and Motorhead. They released their 1st album "Bump & Grind" in 1992, then "Motor City Resurrection" in 1994. In 1995, their 3rd album "Savage Garden" came out, produced by Timo Tolkki, guitarist of Stratovarius, who would also produce the next one, "Wrap Your Troubles in Dreams", which came out in 1997 with the participation of Ville Valo (HIM). In 1999 the band released their 5th opus "Wasting the Dawn"; Ville took part in several tracks and appeared in the "Wasting the Dawn" video playing the role of Jim Morrison, a video that is a tribute to the singer. 2000 was their best year since their beginnings; they earned their 1st Gold record in January 2001.
