HIM

HIM (for His Infernal Majesty) is a gothic metal band originally from Helsinki, Finland. The band combines lyrics on the themes of love and death, using heavy metal-style guitar sounds, hence the creation of the love metal genre. The band was formed in 1991 by singer Ville Hermanni Valo, Mikko Viljami "Linde" Lindström (Lily Lazer) and Mikko Heinrik Julius Paananen (Migé Amour). The band now consists of Ville, Linde, Migé, a third keyboardist Jani Purttinen (Emerson Burton), and a second drummer Mikka Kirstian Karppinen (Gas Lipstick). In 1992, HIM produced a 7-song demo, Witches and Other Night Fears.
