Tristania

Tristania was created in 1996 when Einar Moen (keyboards) and Morten Veland (vocals/guitar) decided to set aside their project Uzi Suicide in order to start their own band. They were quickly joined by Kenneth Olsson on drums, then by Anders H. Hidle on guitar and Rune Østerhus on bass. Vibeke Stene was recruited in May 1997 during the recording of their studio demo. At the time she was only meant to take part in the recording, but the band found that her voice suited their musical style perfectly. Shortly afterwards, the band signed a contract with the label Napalm Records. The demo was thus released as a mini CD under the name "Tristania".
