Tarja

Tarja Soile Susanna Turunen Cabuli, known by her stage name Tarja Turunen, was born in Kitee, Finland, on 17 August 1977. A Finnish lyric artist, composer and pianist. Tarja became world-famous as the singer of the Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish between 1996 and 2005. Today she pursues a solo career. Tarja officially began her musical career in 1996 when the band Nightwish was founded by Tuomas Holopainen. Tarja sang for the band until October 2005; it was in an open letter to the press that the band announced her dismissal. In November 2005, Tarja began a solo Christmas concert tour that continued until the end of 2005.
