Sadist

Sadist is an Italian progressive death metal band from Genoa. The band ceased its activity in 2000 after the release of the album Lego, but reformed in 2007 on the occasion of the release of its self-titled album. Its music incorporates guitar and keyboard solos, as well as influences drawn from jazz and oriental music. The band was initially formed in 1990 under the name Necrodeath, and at the impetus of Tommy (guitar, keyboard) and Peso (drums) who were looking for other musicians to complete the line-up. A few weeks later, Andy (bass) and Fabio (vocals) joined the band. Sadist drew the attention of the label Obscure Plasma Records while playing their demo during local concerts. The demo, Black Screams, came out in September 1991 and sold nearly 2,500 copies.
