Battlecross

Battlecross is an American heavy metal band originating from Canton (Michigan). The band characterizes its sound as « Blue Collar Thrash Metal ». The band was formed in 2003 by Tony Asta and Hiran Deraniyagala in Canton, Michigan, where these neighbors and childhood friends studied at Salem High School. In 2007, they hired drummer Mike Kreger. In 2008 and 2010 respectively, bassist Don Slater and singer Kyle « Gumby » Gunther joined the band. Together, they played at local parties around Detroit and in the midwest. In 2010, Battlecross released an independent album, Push Pull Destroy. In late 2010, the band drew the attention of Metal Blade Records.
