Kovenant

The Kovenant is a Norwegian Black metal band. Their style evolved over time towards what could be called space metal or cyber metal. The band was originally called Covenant, but had to change its name because of the homonymy with the Swedish band Covenant. The Kovenant was formed in 1993 by Nagash and Blackheart. After several demos the band found a label to record their first album, In Times Before The Light. This album, released in 1997, launched the band. For the second album, Nexus Polaris, Hellhammer (of Mayhem), Astennu and Sverd joined the band. This album achieved success thanks to Nuclear Blast's promotion. On the following album, Animatronic, The Kovenant carried out a change of style, notably due to the departure of Astennu and Sverd. It is the first album released under the name The Kovenant.
