Evergrey

Evergrey is a progressive metal/power metal band from Gothenburg, Sweden. It was founded in 1996 and released its first album The Dark Discovery in 1998. It all began in the late 1980s, when Tom S. Englund and Dan Bronell, classical guitarists, decided to switch to death metal. In 1993, the two companions formed the band Evergrey. The small Swedish outfit expanded its ranks with the arrival of Daniel Noyd on bass in 1995. That same year, Patrick Carlsson took part as drummer in the recording of the band's first track. In December, Evergrey's first demo was recorded at Los Angered Recording studio with Andy LaRocque. In 1996, the band recorded a second demo. At the end of 1996, the band got in touch with labels.
