Cynic

Cynic is a technical Death metal band originally from Florida and now based in Los Angeles, author of four albums and one EP. The first, Focus, released in 1993, laid the foundations of progressive death. Formed by childhood friends who made a name for themselves by taking part in Death's album "Human", Cynic is behind a new advance in Death metal, a style often reduced to a guttural vocal. Their first album offers a death that is at once technical, progressive and atmospheric, underpinned by synthesizer parts and a vocoded voice, as well as a mix with typically Jazz passages. The band gained great renown in the field of technical metal. The band reformed in 2007 and would perform a series of concerts in Europe, notably at metal festivals.
