Battlezone

The beginnings of Battlezone came about when Iron Maiden singer Paul Di'Anno left the band in late 1981 (due to a difference of opinion with bassist Steve Harris) and went off to experiment with his own projects. One of these projects was a band simply named Di'Anno, which recorded an album. He was also persuaded to make an EP with the supergroup "Gogmagog", a ridiculously written rock opera. After the "Gogmagog" affair, Di'Anno decided to drop everything and start again from scratch, and in 1986 he met bassist Pete West, guitarists John Wiggins and John Hurley, and drummer Bob Falck. Thus the Battlezone era began. They quickly released "Fighting Back", their first LP, in 1986.
