Dimmu Borgir

Dimmu Borgir is a Norwegian symphonic black metal band formed in 1993. The band's name comes from a volcanic formation that can be seen in Iceland, at Dimmuborgir. The band has undergone many line-up changes, with guitarist Silenoz and singer Shagrath currently being the only two founding members left. The band was founded in 1993 by Shagrath, Silenoz and Tjodalv, soon joined by Brynjard Tristan and Stian Aarstad. Dimmu Borgir's career began with the EP Inn I Evighetens Morke in 1994, closely followed by the first album For All Tid (with appearances by ldrahn of Dødheimsgard and Vicotnik of Ved Buens Ende). Shagrath was then handling drums and vocals.
