Cannibal Corpse

Cannibal Corpse is an American brutal death metal band founded in 1988 by Chris Barnes, Bob Rusay, Jack Owen, Alex Webster and Paul Mazurkiewicz. Originally from Buffalo, the band later moved to Florida. Cannibal Corpse is considered, along with a few others, to be a pioneering band in death metal. Despite its musical violence, Cannibal Corpse is not a grindcore band. Indeed, its lyrics are not politically committed: they are in the pure tradition of death metal, with a leaning towards the bloody and horrific of B-movies. The covers of their albums, as macabre as can be, fit well with this style.
